DESCO'S SERVICES

OUR SERVICES
Desco offers a variety of performances, workshops, facilitated conversations, and arts-based experiences designed to build community, spark dialogue, and inspire reflection and action.
Rooted in storytelling, collective creation, and culturally responsive practices, our services center the voices and experiences of Latinx, immigrant, LGBTQ+, and other historically marginalized communities while welcoming participants from all backgrounds.
Whether partnering with schools, universities, healthcare providers, nonprofits, government agencies, cultural institutions, or community groups, we tailor our offerings to meet the unique needs of each audience. Depending on the program and partnership, services may be offered free of charge or for a fee.

Full Performances and Excerpts
From full-length productions to shorter excerpts, our performances use theater, storytelling, music, audience engagement, and more to explore issues that impact our communities. Rooted in lived experience, collective creation, and Latin American theater traditions such as Theater of the Oppressed and Teatro Popular, these works spark dialogue, foster connection, and invite audiences to imagine new possibilities for themselves and their communities.

Workshops/Laboratories and Socio-artistic Processes
Our workshops, laboratories, and socio-artistic processes use creative and participatory approaches to explore identity, community, social issues, and personal stories. Drawing from theater, collective creation, popular education, Theater of the Oppressed, Nonviolent Communication, Community Arts, and facilitated dialogue, these experiences create spaces for learning, reflection, skill-building, connection, healing, and community building.
